Ferries, fast ferries and island boats in Malaysia

Ferries in Malaysia: departures, ringgit fares and jetties

One page per route: the departures published for the current period, the fare in ringgit and what is paid on top, and exactly which jetty or terminal the boat leaves from.

Season and service
Weather and sea conditions can change a sailing

Rough seas, weather warnings and maintenance can delay or cancel a boat. Each route page shows only the dates and notices the operator itself has published.

Boat services in Malaysia range from short hops to offshore islands to international ferries to Singapore. They are run by private operators, licensed by the Marine Department (Jabatan Laut), and some island trips also enter a marine park or national park with its own entry or conservation charge. Each page here lists the boat fare and any such charges separately, and prints a total only when the official source does.

On the international crossing to Singapore, passports and immigration apply at both terminals and the operator can add charges at check-in. Singapore keeps the same clock as Malaysia, and every page says which time zone its tables use.

Timetables are shown as 24-hour times with the 12-hour reading next to them (06:30, 6:30am), and the season box at the top of each page says which period the departures cover.

Where the boats go

Pins show the jetties and terminals, and a dashed line links the two ends of each route. Tap either one to see who runs the boat, what kind of vessel it is and the key figures, then follow the link to the route page.

Ferries and fast ferries

Whether you can take a car, how much luggage you can bring and how the sea affects the trip depend on the boat. Here are the same routes grouped by the kind of vessel that serves them.

Common questions about ferries and boats in Malaysia

Are the departures on this site live?

No. They are the departures the operator has published for the period shown on each page. Weather, sea conditions or maintenance can still change a sailing, and a notice from the operator always takes precedence over the times printed here.

Is the marine park fee included in the boat ticket?

Usually not. Marine park and national park charges are set by the park authority and are paid separately, sometimes at a different counter. Each route page names the charge and its source when it applies.

What do I need for the ferry to Singapore?

A passport valid for travel and any visa or entry formalities Singapore requires for your nationality. You pass immigration on both sides, and the operator can collect a surcharge on top of the ticket.

Which clock do the timetables use?

Malaysia time, UTC+8. Singapore runs on the same clock, so the Desaru Coast crossing needs no conversion, and each table states the time zone it uses.

Where do the times and fares come from?

Each figure comes from the operator, through its website, booking page or the board at the jetty counter, or from a public body such as the Marine Department or a park authority. Every source is archived with its date, and each table shows when it was last checked.

Can I buy tickets on this site?

No. Lauttainfo Malaysia is an independent guide and sells nothing. Tickets are sold by the operator, at the jetty counter or through the booking channel the operator names.
