More boats on some dates than on others

When we read the calendar on 30 October, it listed twelve sailings each way from 6 to 10 November and eight on the other dates up to 21 November. Times on this page are Malaysia time.

RM10 per adult per crossing and eight sailings in each direction: that is the Lumut–Pangkor ferry as Konsortium Mesra Duta's booking calendar showed it on 30 October 2026 for every date from 2 to 21 November. Boats leave Lumut Jetty at 07:15, 09:30, 11:30, 13:15, 14:45, 16:30, 18:30 and 19:00, and Pangkor Jetty at 06:30, 08:15, 10:30, 12:45, 14:15, 15:45, 17:30 and 18:15.

On some dates the same calendar adds four boats each way. From 6 to 10 November it lists twelve departures from each jetty, the extras leaving Lumut at 10:45, 13:45, 15:15 and 17:15 and Pangkor at 11:45, 13:30, 14:45 and 16:30. Since the operator publishes no fixed timetable, the tables below record what was on sale when we looked; they are not a promise for later weeks.

Konsortium Mesra Duta gives the Lumut–Pangkor crossing as 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the weather, with a call at the SPK jetty in Sungai Pinang Kecil on the way, and its website sells only return tickets.

The first column lists departures from Lumut Jetty and the second departures from Pangkor Jetty. The operator says boats call at the SPK jetty in Sungai Pinang Kecil, but no separate time is given for that stop.

RM10 a crossing, booked as a return

The operator's schedule page prices each direction at RM10, and the departure calendar shows the same RM10 against every adult seat, outward and back. Because pangkorferry.my sells round trips only, an online booking always combines one Lumut leg and one Pangkor leg.

Small charges are added at checkout. A one-adult return priced on 28 October, out on 29 October and back the next morning, carried a RM1.00 ticket surcharge and a RM1.60 fuel surcharge, for RM22.60 in all; RM1.50 travel insurance was offered as an option. Those add-ons only appear after sailings are chosen, so we did not recheck them on 30 October.

The calendar also shows a lower child price, but the operator does not say up to what age it applies, so we leave it out.

Two town jetties, one stop on the way

Departure jetty

Lumut Jetty (Jeti Lumut)

Jalan Sultan Yussuf Izuddin, Pekan Lumut · Lumut, Manjung

This is the jetty the booking calendar calls Lumut Jetty, in the town itself. It is not the Marina Island Jetty Complex, a separate departure point in Manjung district with a different operator and its own ticket system, so a pangkorferry.my booking is valid on boats from this jetty only.

Pangkor Jetty (Jeti Pangkor)

Pekan Pangkor · Pulau Pangkor, Manjung

Boats back to the mainland leave from the jetty in Pekan Pangkor. The operator mentions a call at the SPK jetty in Sungai Pinang Kecil, yet its calendar offers only Lumut Jetty and Pangkor Jetty as boarding points, so plan the return from here.

The map marks the two jetties named in the operator's calendar. Konsortium Mesra Duta puts the Lumut–Pangkor crossing at 30 to 45 minutes including the SPK call; it publishes no distance, and the SPK jetty is not plotted because we have no verified position for it.

Before you queue at Lumut Jetty

  • Online means a return ticket

pangkorferry.my states that it sells round-trip tickets only, so you pick the Lumut sailing and the Pangkor sailing together. The site does not say whether the jetty counter sells singles.

  • No changes once paid

According to the operator's FAQ, Pangkor ferry bookings are neither refundable nor amendable; money comes back only if the ferry company cancels the trip.

  • Your car stays in Lumut

These boats sell seats to foot passengers. Vehicles and cargo use a separate crossing from Marina Island run by R Masyhur Logistic, which lists Monday-to-Saturday sailings between 09:00 and 16:30.

  • Weather can slow the crossing

The operator's 30 to 45 minutes may stretch in poor conditions. The calendar's 33-minute figure carries an asterisk, so treat it as an estimate rather than an arrival time.

  • Look up your own travel day

The number of Lumut–Pangkor boats changes from date to date, and single sailings can drop out, so open the calendar for your day before counting on a late return.

Who runs the boats, and since when RM10

Konsortium Mesra Duta is the name on the booking site and on every Lumut–Pangkor departure in its calendar. The boats listed under it carry three sets of names, Mesra, Duta and Pan Silver: on the dates read for this page they included Mesra 2, 5 and 6, Duta 3 and 7, and Pan Silver 1 and 7. Dates further ahead show a placeholder, 'Default Ferry', until a boat is assigned.

The RM10 adult fare dates from 2022. A notice signed by Pan Silver Ferry Sdn Bhd and Duta Pangkor Express Feri Sdn Bhd set RM10 for a one-way adult tourist trip from Lumut Jetty from 1 July 2022, and the same RM10 per leg is what pangkorferry.my displays in October 2026.
