The Desaru Coast – Tanah Merah fast ferry leaves the country, so passports and immigration counters apply at both terminals. BatamFast, a Singapore company, runs it between Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal near Changi and the Desaru Coast ferry terminal on Johor's south-east coast.
Singapore and Malaysia keep the same clock, so no time change is needed on this crossing. The route page lists departures and fares as BatamFast publishes them, and shows the fuel surcharge apart from the ticket price because the operator collects it separately.
